More On Psalm 85

Intro:

"Man shall not live by bread alone,
but by every word that proceeds
out of the mouth of God." ~ Matthew 4:4

God is speaking. He speaks. His words are food to us.

Psalm 85:8
"I will hear what God the Lord will speak"
This is present tense - speaking. Not what He spoke yesterday.
It is what He is speaking now. It is what He speaks today,
in this time, this hour...
"I will hear"
There is a choosing for us. A choice we make, to hear or not.
To pay Him mind, or to let His voice be crowded out by
the din all around us.

His words are seeds, they will fall on prepared ground
in us or other kinds of ground in us.
See the parable of the sower and remember, God's word
CAN be taken over within us by the cares of this world.
Literally, choked out.

Yet, what will God speak to us when we come to Him
in a willingness to hear.
Do we first of all not recognize that it is the Holy Spirit that
brought us to this place...
No one comes to Jesus, except that Our Father moved on us to bring us there... (John 6:44)
So we must remain in an expectation in faith, that God
set us up
to be with Him :)
and wasn't that good of Him?
(We surely would not have come if He hadn't done so!
Can I get an "amen"?)

And then we need to hear Him.
Voices all around us. Noisy and in turmoil and not at peace.
No voice in this world has the peace that only God can give,
except those who first receive from Him, and then speak ...
If this is what we want to be like, we must first receive His peace.

Why peace?
Jesus said, "My peace I give to you, not as the world gives." ~ John 14:27
His peace is the Shalom of God, not man's peace.
Not a temporary fleeting calm that lasts just a moment.
Not a calmness we work and work for by trying to blank out our thoughts and "breathe"
and all those other exercises that the world teaches...
Which is pure self-centered-ness.
Which leads us to make ourselves our own gods.
How? By being self-serving, self-centered, and self-preserving to find inner peace.
And it elevates us and our own abilities
in our own eyes to make our lives what we want...
without recognizing
Who God is.

God is Who Jesus exemplified, walking and talking, living and being to us,
which is far far different and way beyond any plan of man to supply his own needs by his own efforts.
But we can do that and seem to be satisfied.
We sure can. We can live our whole lives on what we do for ourselves and call it belonging to God,  but it isn't truly.
How do I know?
Because there are two natures, two ways we can choose to live,
according the the Word of God,
and one lives within us from the start of our being.
It is the nature of
The Tree of The Knowledge of Good and Evil.
It is the tree man was told not to eat of.
It is the tree that fosters man's independence from God.
Sadly, it is the sap of this tree that we are living from,
until God reveals Who He is to us.

Jesus said "I am The Way, The Truth and The Life".
THE Life.
The Tree of Life.
The root out of the dry ground.
The Life of God. God's very Life.
When Jesus died for us, this is what He poured out for us.
It was God's Life that saved us, that paid for us, in order
to bring us back INto God's order.
The purpose of God's heart was to make a way for us,
And Jesus became THE Way for us.
The Truth is that we cannot live with God's life IN us
unless we choose to eat of The Tree of Life.
This is more than communion and much more than the feast
of Passover. It is not outward.
It is only found by repentance from the tree we were told
WOULD NOT be life to us.
In the day that you eat of it, God warned them, you will die.
What happened when they ate of it?
They died.
They died to the Life of God. They were separated from the
very Life that they were called to partake of.

If we, being believers in Jesus, go along the same way,
same way of living, same way of enjoying our natural lives,
same thinking, same routines and expectations that we think
and want and deal with...
The same as without hearing from God,
knowing His ways,
prayer and time with God to find His heart for us...
Asking Him to teach us, change us, save us...
Wanting Him involved in our lives because
Jesus was very involved in the lives He touched.
It stands to simple reasoning that if we have believed on Jesus,
we are both priveleged and entitled to be touched by Jesus,
Who is The Life...

So our living, our being, must be new to us,
and very different from the world around us.
If what we think and how we act and what we do is all just like
what is around us in the world,
matching the voices around us,
adhering to whatever comes at us,
and we are choosing good and evil, good and evil,
trying to survive by only letting good into our lives,
yet finding
both are touching our lives....
If it is the same old struggles and passions and difficulties and
we are not experiencing anything different,
there is no lifting of burdens,
no sense of lasting peace,
no sense of help beyond us that we can be thankful for
(and many have these in seed form, every once in a while
a good feeling or sense of God being there for them, which is
certainly something to build on...)
DO NOT BE CONDEMNED or fault yourself!
This is what life is --
A day of choosing.

God set us up as living beings who CAN choose.
And He set up the choices for us.
Which tree do you want to partake of?
Which tree do you want to know?
Which tree do you want to live, or die, from?
Which tree do you suppose is going to give you what you need?
We were created to NEED God,
with a place in us FOR God,
created to be IN relationship with God,
to be like Him.

Do you have peace in your soul? Is your soul -- your emotions,
your will, your mind -- being touched by God?
For His words are spirit and life, and nourishment to us.
We are called to have rest in our souls.
Jesus said He gives rest. His burden is easy.
His leading you on the pathway of life is to be light
not heavy!
Jesus said, "Come unto Me all you who labor and are heavy laden,
and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you and learn of Me. For I am meek and lowly.
And you will **find rest unto your soul.
For my yoke is easy and My burden is light."** ~ Matthew 11:28-30
He said "Come unto Me" and He provides all this...
It is His promise!

Are you experiencing God and finding rest and lightening and
His presence filling your life?
Are you taking chances in prayer to stand on the Word of God
and pray for God to work that way in your life?
Are things real like this for you?

"I will hear what God the Lord WILL SPEAK"
This is what He WILL speak, Davide said.
Confidence in God and what He did for us by Jesus on the cross,
that He Himself made peace with us through Jesus
Jesus is our peace... He made all the battles between us and
God cease...
We are called to be at peace with God.
We can actually go to Him in confidence because Jesus did
everything for us,
and HEAR His voice.
In that place of shutting the door of our closet, in that place
of quietness and setting time aside for Him,
in that place of opening ourselves to God and shutting out
the world around us...
Just to HEAR Him.

"For He will speak Peace ..." God speaks His Shalom to us,
over us, into us...
His words are creative.
He told light to be, and it was.
What now will happen when He speaks Shalom to you?
Will not Shalom then be within you, be in your very life,
be in your heart and mind and ...

What is Shalom?
Shalom is more than peace as we use the word in English.
It is the state of total provision from God, with no lack.

(Note: Rah is chaos and it is the direct opposite of Shalom.
This is why many of us have adhered to the Word of God over all
other religions and ideals. For these other gods are not gods of God,
but gods that do the bidding for the enemy and cause the
direct opposite in your life.
Test them and find out if you don't believe me, if you've let them in your life.
They are not fairy tales, but very real....
Remember, the Tree of the Knowledge of Good AND EVIL
is what was eaten by our forefather and mother, and we feel drawn/ pulled
to eat of it, to keep that other nature going in us...
Without repentance towards Jesus to ask Him about these things
and let Him reveal The Truth to you, this is the track we are on.
With same results...
And historically, only the Jewish people were in touch with the Living God,
via a way that God made by visiting Abraham, as He did not have a people serving Him in the earth until He created His people of promise through Abe.
Every other people group on the earth was serving Baal / Beelzebub / the devil,
which type of worship is the traditional root of all other religions in the earth. Do your homework. Never assume. After all, it's knowledge of good and evil working in you to adhere to alternate beliefs not supported in the Word of God.
Jesus is The Word of God (John 1:1-11), He is the logos, the written Word which is God's
spoken Words written down. So, anything else is not. Too simple?)

Shalom is only from God and only through Jesus.
"My shalom I give to you" , Jesus said. It is HIS Shalom.
"Not as the world gives", He said. So it's not what you find in the world.
Period.

Shalom is the flow of God's heart towards us, His very being,
as He moves upon our life and redirects every circumstance,
He moves within us and sets our hearts to rights... Our interior being...
Shalom is the loving, incredible and awesome governing of God in and through
 our lives!

Shalom is -- to quote The One New Man Bible,
"Shalom cannot be translated into English with a single word.
Shalom comes from Shalem meaning
to be complete.

When there is Shalom there is tranquility, justice, sufficient food,
clothing, housing.
There is Divine health with no sickness.
Shalom means an absence of disorder, injustice,
bribery, corruption, conflict, lack, hatred, abuse, violence, pain,
suffering, immorality, and all other negative forces.

A rabbi wrote that Shalom means "No good thing withheld." "

We therefore, have an amazing ability and opportunity to choose
GOD'S AMAZING PROVISION! Even the inheritance we were created for,
the royal treatment :), the favor of God!! ...
To be HIS and to receive from His heart all the Love He has
for us, in every form that He gives Love
To us...
To belong to HIS graces,
To adhere to HIS movements in us and on us,
To live IN HIM,
"In Him we live and move and have our being." ~ Acts 17:28

We need to make our choices. Daily.

Psalm 85:9
"Surely His salvation is near to those who fear Him..."

We can be assurred that if we regard Him in awe and
reverence (fear) and consider Him our source and
to Whom we owe our lives,
the One Who has designed our lives for
us to be fulfilled in HIM --
not lost and struggling and burdened and in grief...
Or just the status-quo --
If we regard Him properly, we will receive His salvation.
Which is His ongoing freeing of our hearts and minds,
His rescuing of us from all sin and shame,
His work within us...
His life within us replacing all the things that bring us death...

"...That glory may dwell in our land."
We are the dwelling place of God
"Behold the tabernacle of God is with men" ~ Revelation
We are deep
"Deep calls unto deep" ~ Psalm 42:7
And we are created for fellowship with God
"Behold I stand at the door and knock.
If any man hear my voice and open the door
I will come in to him and sup with him
and he with Me." ~ Revelation 3:20
Notice we have to HEAR HIS VOICE to open the door
of relationship with Him.

And we are like little, mini Canaan lands, :)
That is,
we are God's creation and God wants to live in us,
but first the giants --the gods we set up inside us:
aka
the problems we believe are too great for God,
and the desires we rather would have than God's way for us,
and the struggles we pride ourselves on,
and the diseases we think are permanent because
another voice told us so
and we believe that over God's words... etc ----
These must be cleared out
so that God may possess the land
that is, US.

For
We are His inheritance.
"Arise O God and judge the earth, for You shall inherit
all nations."  ~ Psalm 82:8
"...for Thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God
by Thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation ..."
~ Revelation 5:9

God INHERITS us.
We inherit by Jesus
God's great inheritance for us.
Surely that is His plan for us and what He wants.
But HE inherits US as well.

What will you be when you stand before Him?
What will you give Him today,
so that you can give Him the chance to show you your choices?
"O taste and see that the Lord is good." ~ Psalm 34:8
We need to taste Him, to check Him out, to experience Him,
or if you so choose, ignore Him.
Ignore your state of affairs and hope for the best.

But do not think salvation is on auto-pilot
and the time you believed long ago will be what stands.
Because if your heart is not adhering to God's heart,
if your heart is full of darkness, and not light,
if you need help now and you are not asking for that help,
what will happen when God takes you home?

We have a great and awesome calling but we cannot
CANNOT
fulfill it ourselves.
And God DOES NOT expect us to.
We must experience God's way, His workings, His movements,
His speaking His Shalom to us...
For His words are life.
And all others' words,
are death.

I have set before you life and death, God says.
"Choose life". ~ Deuteronomy 30:19

All scripture references this time are from the KJV version of The Holy Bible,
nearly directly quoted, as I habitually change certain words to the modern version, such as "thou" to "you", so it can be read easier.

And the single quote as referenced from The One New Man Bible is taken from an online excerpt of a footnote for the word "shalom".

Scriptures quoted in context:

1. Deuteronomy 30:19-21
"I call heaven and earth to record this day against you
that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing:
therefore, choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live;

That thou mayest love the Lord thy God, and that thou mayest obey
His voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto Him: for He is thy life,
and the length of thy days: ..."

2. Psalm 34:1-11

"I will bless the Lord at all times: His praise shall continually be in my mouth.
My sould shall make her boast in the Lord: the humble shall hear thereof
and be glad.
O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt His name together.
I sought the Lord, and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.

They looked unto Him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed.
This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles.

The angel of the Lord encampeth round about them that fear Him,
and delivereth them.
O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in Him.

O fear the Lord, ye His saints: for there is no want to them that fear Him.
The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the Lord
shall not want any good thing.

Come, ye children, hearken unto me, I will teach you the fear of the Lord."

3. Revelation 5:9
"And they sung a new song, saying, "Thou art worthy to take the book,
and to open the seals thereof: for Thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God
by Thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;..."

4. Acts 17:24-31
"God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that He is Lord
of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands;
Neither is worshipped with men's hands, as though he needed any thing,
seeing He giveth to all life, and breath, and all things

And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face
of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed,
and the bounds of their habitation;

That they should seek the Lord if haply they might feel after Him,
and find Him, though He be not far from every one of us:
For in Him we live, and move, and have our being; as certian also of
your own poets have said. For we are also His offspring.

Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think
that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man's device.
And the times of this ignorance God winked at;

but now commandeth all men every where to repent:

Because He hath appointed a day in which he will judge the world in righteousness
by that man whom He hath ordained;
whereof He hath given assurance unto all men, in that He hath raised Him
from the dead. "

5. John 14:6
"I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."

6. John 6:44,45
"No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him, and I will raise him up
at the last day.
It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God.
Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father,
cometh unto Me."

7. John 14: 25-
"These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you.

But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in My name,
He shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said
unto you.

Peace I leave with you, My peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you.
Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you.
If you loved Me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I."
