Psalm 82: Flowing With God's Judgements PART II

For the bit more experienced in the Word of God, or the hungry -- maybe to see if they want more experience. (Not for everybody. Yet. That's ok.)

With all the hype and talk about what has happened in our great country,
I have decided to continue to try to "put to pen" the little piece of truth in my heart;
something that God keeps speaking to me.

My heart on this is to write towards one goal:
That we hear and follow Jesus, our Head, and rely ON Him,
instead of and not on our own faulty understandings. For we without Him, we can do nothing...
Nothing that is of His will, that counts as / produces good fruit
/ hits the mark that He is aiming us to hit.

And He is
aiming us...

We are in this world, but not of this world.
We are designed to be like God, created in His image, created with a need for dependence on Him.
We were severely brought low (destitute) and completely separated from God by sin, (Gen 3)
which entered the heart of man genetically, death and striving and all kinds of inability to do good in God's sight became our nature.
But God commended His love for us in that while we were sinners, Christ died for us. (Rom 5:8)
We were bought with a price, the precious blood of Jesus. (I Cor 6:20)
Shall we continue in sin then that grace may abound? No.. God forbid. (Rom 6:1,2)

But remember...
"Mercy and truth are met together. Righteousness and peace have kissed each other." ~ Psalm 85:10.
In and through Jesus we have peace with God our Father, He is our peace, (Eph 2:4)
but we also have a high and holy calling to be ...

His.

And -
Not belong to ourselves any longer.

I am dead and my life is hidden in Christ in God.
(Col 3:3)

We are called to walk with the Holy Spirit and not be condemned.
"There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are
in Christ Jesus,
who walk
not after the flesh,
but after the Spirit." ~Romans 8:1

We are called to both the infilling of: the baptism in the Holy Spirit,
from which our tongues become yielded to God in heavenly prayer
and begin to affect our lives with prayer that we do not censor. ***
And to learn from Him, our teacher, the Holy Spirit
what is and is not OF God.

"Having our senses exercised" (Hebrews 5:14)
And so we are in training, daily.

Or
We are in distress, not realizing we are in training.
(Your choice.)

With these understandings in mind,
these things purposed by God and not having our way,
but His,
let me proceed...

Psalm 82 - Mostly quoted using the NKJV
(Please note: I have included the Hebrew words with the definitions, just typed using my American alphabet keyboard, but it's not accurate lettering. See footnote that follows.)

Let me share that I heard this Psalm in my spirit and recognized that God had made it a burning bush to me about four years ago.
That is, I would look at it, read it in awe and catch glimmers of truth.
It has become a precious utterance of the Lord to me, even though it sounded harsh to my natural ears when I first met up with it.

However, it has remained mostly a spectacle to me until the eyes of my spirit were directed by the Holy Spirit to focus on the beginning... the first two words,

"God stands"

I sensed a well there, so I drew the water by way of study in the original language. Please do not look down on studying the Word, for we study it to show ourselves approved unto God.
2 Timothy 2:15 says, "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."

God, the Holy Spirit Who teaches us, is leading us INTO ALL truth
John 16:13: "Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth:
for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak..."
Therefore, we must hear ALL truth that the Holy Spirit has brought to us (in the Word)
and we must also be led INTO ALL truth,
which is far, far more than reading comprehension.
May our spiritual ears be opened to hear and hear more and more of God's truth...
And may our ears become attuned to hear and to hold onto God's truth. Amen?

Psalm 82:1
" God stands ".
The word "stands" is the word "nasab" in Hebrew, a verb meaning "to stand oneself before".
It both means "officer" and "official".
And it carries a meaning of "to be wretched, exhausted" coupled with that.
It also means "to station, set up, establish." And "to be set up, decreed".

This word is stand is deep. It is so significant!
There is so much of God's character in this word,
so much of His heart!
When I read the definition of this word,
I took some deep breaths because it was so refreshing!
This word is like a well to me, deep and worth waiting on.

Knowing it is a verb, we can read all these aspects of the word
stand and see that it means very much is going on!
God is doing all of these.
Within His action of standing
is a a stationing, an establishing, a decreeing, a setting up,
His heart is involved - for we have an aspect of
being brought low - wretched, and of being poured out - exhausted.
And we have the aspect of lordship - Official.

Who does this sound like?
Who is in an official position of leadership, Who has been
wretched and exhausted?
Do we understand that Jesus was appointed by our Father
as the head of all, over His own house? Which is us? (Eph 1:22, 23)
And do we understand that He Who was slain for us,
The Lamb of God, sits on the throne with our Father?
He is in the midst of the throne of God in Revelation 7, and on the
right hand of the Father in Ephesians 1.
And according to Hebrews He is ruling until all things are
put under His feet (I Cor 15:25),
But He is ruling as being appointed.
That is to say, He earned or qualified for the position by fulfilling the will of
His Father.
He is not self-appointed, but appointed by our Father.

For the sake of glorying in Who Jesus is, His character,
further...
I quote from a book called "His Coming Presence"
 by Luther Conrath.
This is a beautful book and it is free to be read on the
website I've put in my notes, below.
This quote is an amazing counterpart to this word Hebrew word
for "stand".
The author quotes a scripture from Revelation and makes
a comment, as follows -

"
“And I turned to see the voice that spoke with me.
And having turned, I saw seven golden lampstands.
And in the midst of the seven lampstands I saw One
like the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the feet,
and tied about the breast with a golden band.” Revelation 1:12-13

John did not see Jesus coming in the clouds of glory,
but he saw Him in the midst of the Church.
The word “midst” means right in the middle of it.
Wherever we may look at the Church, Jesus is to be there.
This is not always true today, but there will be a day in
which wherever we look in the Body of Christ,
we will see Jesus, because He will be intimately aware
of everything that is in the Church.  "

The author tells clearly what Jesus is wearing and
what it means --and this part is pertinent to us -

...."A girdle is nothing more than a belt.
In that day, belts were worn around the chest in a way
that crisscrossed and held in the chest area
and then were tied around the middle.
Part of the armor of God was a girdle.
The meaning of these words is
“to bind oneself with obligation to someone else.”
Thus, the golden girdle that Jesus has around Him
is binding Him to that part of His Body, the Church,
which has not yet been raised from the dead,
but is soon to be transformed.
He put on this golden girdle to hold the Church to Himself. "

Setting our eyes on Jesus, and understanding that David walked with God
in the prophetic understanding and revelation of his Messiah (our Messiah),
Who was not revealed in David's time of course, yet understood by David according to God opening His plan up to him...
It is reasonable therefore,
for us then to understand that this word depicts our loving Savior,
Who became wretched and Who exhausted His resources,
Who expended Himself fully for us! Hallelujah!

Continuing in the Psalm, we find find God "in" the congregation and "among" the gods.
Location is everything! :)
These words are accurately translated, the word for "among" being deeper,
meaning "inner parts, by extension heart or mind as the seat of thought and emotion; interior, midst".

Clearly, this IS Emmanuel!!

The Hebrew word for "among" also carries the definitive meaning of a second Hebrew word
that indicates location, "in, on, among, over, through".

IN the congregation of the mighty
and AMONG the gods.

The Hebrew word for "congregation" is eda meaning, "community, assembly" without regard to type of group, but indicates a unity.

"Of the mighty"
The word for mighty is El.
This is part of one of God's names, The Mighty One (Elohim) "often used in combination with His other titles" the definition reads.
In fact, this is the same word used in verse 1 for God, i.e.: "El" stands.

But this can also be used for "any person who is strong and capable" "mighty one, strength" as defined.

We now understand:

The Mighty God is standing before is as our Officer
-- Jesus is The Mighty God - per Isaiah -

IN the community of those who are also El, or also mighty ones...
And He is AMONG / IN the "gods"

In the Hebrew, this word for "gods" is "lohim", which is the other part of God's name, "Elohim".

That alone is beyond comprehension because in verse 6, God says this is us...
"I said, "You are gods..." ", that is, " I said, "You are lohim " ".

The El and all His might
is within us
the lohim...

All HE IS

IS

in our presence

And

IS

INSIDE US...

He is present before us --
outside us
and IS
Present with-IN us!

His presence permeates the atmosphere all around us--
Yes, the whole earth is full of the glory of the Lord, says Isaiah 6:3.
And
His presence fills us
IS WITHIN US.

AS EL ... With all His might and power ...

And HE CALLS US both "el" and "lohim".

Why?
How do you think this is?

Are we not re-made in Christ?
New creatures in Christ Jesus? (II Cor 5:17)
Are we not seated in Heavenly places in Christ Jesus?
When did this happen?
Who said we are this? (Eph 2:6)

Are we believers of God's Holy Spirit Who is our teacher,
leading us into ALL truth? Or not?

If we are, we are in need of training. We are in need of asking and seeking God about

What
This
All
Means.

Jesus is our Officer.
He is our Authority.
Does He have The say-so (or not)??

We need to decide,
because according to what we have been warned about in scripture,
we have the ability to be misled,
even deceived.

However, we are to know The Truth
and The Truth (Jesus)

Sets
Us
Free.

And we have The Truth in us
BY the Holy Spirit.
(There's simply no other way!)

But - Set Free - from what?

Specifically -- Psalm 82
defines the problem,
the choice we have...
God is asking the question of us, "How long ...?"
And He says we are judging.

Yet He is judging among us, verse 1.

Let's start with His judging.
What is His judging?

The word for judge in this specific verse is sapat meaning, "to judge, decide, lead, defend, vindicate" just to start with.
Its extensive meaning includes "to execute judgement, to be brought to trial; to argue a matter".

Accordingly, He does this AMONG us, that is WITHIN us, that is, IN His Spirit which resides IN our spirit.

Do we hear this?
Do we hear Him judging?
If we hear,
shouldn't we respond to His Spirit and yield to Him?

But He also says we are judging.
Guess what? It's the same exact word - We are doing the same as Him but He says -

We are doing all this judging "UNjustly".

The word for unjustly is awel / awla / ola (either are used) meaning
"wrong, evil, sin, injustice,
what is morally perverted,
warped, and twisted,
an extension of the base meaning physically twisted,
crooked object."
It is translated: iniquity 35 times in the Old Testament and wickedness 7 times.
Heavy issue...
Not something God takes lightly, our unjust judging.
Not at all...

So what is the heart of the problem?
If we are both el and lohim and mighty and gathered unto/ around Him and
have His presence within us, how can this be?

God tells us in His question.
He asks, "How long will you judge unjustly,
And show partiality to the wicked?"

The wording used for partiality in the King James version is more accurate
to the Hebrew:
"How long will you accept the persons of the wicked?"
The hebrew word is paneh and it means
"face; by extension: appearance, presence;
before, in front of,
in the presence of;
to "show one's face" is a sign of favor , to "turn" or "hide one's face" is a sign of rejection. "
So we see the acceptance of the wicked is about whom we face.

Favor -
God's face shines on us.
When He sees Jesus, He sees us for we are hidden in Christ!
Yes, and His face is what we want
because the face of the King is
His favor.

We also have favor to give.
We are also el.
The question is regarding
To Whom we give our favor.

We have a favor that we can give
or we can withhold.

EL IS FACING us.
We have a right standing with God in all His might
and He is judging us in mercy
and in His truth...

To turn
To turn and face Him,
Give Him OUR favor.

"But we all, with open face
beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord,
are changed into the same image
from glory to glory,
even as by the Spirit of the Lord." 2 Cor 3:18

His glory IS HIS PRESENCE.

"As for me I will see His face in righteousness.
I shall be satisfied when I awake with His likeness." Psalm 17:15

***Note: Yes, you can follow the Holy Spirit and have His presence in your
life without being baptized in the Holy Spirit, but you are missing
the enduement of power God has promised to you. God will keep leading you back to this
necessary part of your walk with Him again and again until you respond, because Jesus instructed the disciples to receive the Holy Spirit. It is on the menu for you for good reasons! :)
