PSALM 46 GOD IS...
Psalm 46
Intro:
I'm going to be brave to address what is going on in the world,
especially having been myself an avid watcher of things happening...
I don't follow news because I believe so much about "right" and "wrong",
but because I believe this stirs me to prayer, to seek God,
and to seek Him for Who He is,
to touch His heart with my plea for help, and to hear from Him
what HE would speak today, even to my little heart.
So this is an entry about that which He is speaking to my heart...
(Please Note: Some words I have used CAPITALS to create emphasis,
not to yell at anyone.)
Psalm 46:1
"God IS
our refuge and strength,
A very PRESENT help
in trouble."
I am hearing repeatedly in my spirit about our God being present,
God being "now",
that HE IS IN our lives, HERE much more than I realize,
much much more than I concern myself with.
Perhaps more than each of us concerns ourself with?
I'm experiencing a new wrapping of my mind around this...
This realizing in my spirit convicts, changes and alters
my day to day thinking ...
my moment to moment considerations...
my life and the way I live it.
If I am real with God,
if I am seeking Him and giving Him free reign to speak to me
what He wills,
as He wills and
WHEN He wills,
then my life changes to make room for Him...
And
then He truly takes His Word (scriptures inspired by the Holy Spirit) and sets my heart free
to see as He sees and think as He thinks.
As a comparison -
If you are not experiencing a change of heart and mind, I suspect you are not actually having a life with Jesus
and I would say to you -
"let's pray and ask God together to give you that life"... Because without Him, we can't do anything, Jesus said.
Without hearing and seeing God, as Jesus did, we will not actually produce anything that counts with God.
Jesus said that, not me...
So we all need to be spiritually alive - activated - that part of our spirit must be activated,
so that we can approach God and hear and see,
and He can approach us and touch us so that we hear - and see - and hear more and see more,
- see and hear Him - as He is and as He speaks.
These things we then understand are identical to Him, to Bible scripture, and to those who are also seeing and hearing.
That is, they reflect and reveal facets Him and of the same deep truths of Him...
I had a Jehovah's Witness woman tell me that I was wrong for not taking her literature, one day, on the bus.
She worked herself up into a tither that I was accusing her, when all I said was, "No thanks. I don't need that" and
handed her paper back to her. She went on and on... gathering momentum... And my heart was filled with love for her
as she went pillar to post in her angry expose' of me, accusing me of many things that were so not so...
And I began to speak to her that she didn't have to do that "Hon, it's ok, you don't have to do that", trying to help her
well, not sin, really, but more just to see I wasn't her enemy. Short finish - Even after I told her I cared about her
and God bless you, Hon (to which she cringed and shuddered - wowza!), I only got through to her when I told her I liked
her purple scarf. :) She immediately settled and said, thanks, and complimented me on something I was wearing.
She normalized in a flash!
She was in a storm, I was not.
Psalm 46:1
God IS PRESENT.
He is not absent. He is not withholding Himself nor any good thing from us.
Jesus gave gifts unto men when He ascended on high (Ephesians 4:8).
That is, He released in the spiritual heavelies and deposited to us
these spiritual gifts, from the position of the heavenlies,
released them to men, to us..,
They 'have been' given.
Also, Paul said, we HAVE BEEN BLESSED WITH EVERY SPIRITUAL BLESSING
IN CHRIST JESUS (Ephesians 1:3).
So this is past tense too.
We have ALREADY BEEN blessed...
God is present. The Holy Spirit has come!
I see that He is full of that blessing, delivering them to us,
PRESENT -
EMMANUEL
by The Holy Spirit -
WITH ARMS AND HANDS OPEN
bearing all things which we have need of...
for Our Father knows (knew) what we have (would have) need of
BEFORE WE ASK (asked :) ).
God, our God of the INfinite.
God, our God of blessing.
God, our God of provision and supply.
All my springs are in Thee... (Psalm 87:7b)
This is much more than I can write... This alone bowls me over!
Psalm 46:1
God is our refuge ...and strength.
We can hide in His presence.
We can run to Him and be safe.
He is our strong, safe place.
He is here, and He is now,
and He is our dwelling place, if we so choose to make Him this...
You are my hiding place, David said (Psalm 32:7) . He was running, hiding, on the run, his life in danger.
(Sound like anything you've heard about today?)
Yes...
Not a wimpy god who cannot answer and who doesn't care, like some we've heard about...
(Eyes but they cannot see, ears but they cannot hear ...just carvings, images, molded figures...
or ideas requiring subservience but only taking life, not giving any life or peace... The gods of the peoples
are idols, that is - not alive! 1 Chronicles 16:26 and quoted again in Psalm 96:5.)
No, God is Love,
He gave
and He gives,
and He dwells with men.
That is His heart's desire -
He made it plain -
From Exodus 25:1-8
"Speak to the children of Israel...
And let them make Me a sanctuary,
that I may dwell among them." ...
To Revelation 21:3
"Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men,
and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people.
And God HIMSELF WILL BE WITH THEM and be their God..."
IS ....
His plan is to dwell WITH men.
Only our God desires to dwell and
dwells WITH us.
We may try not to dwell with Him and deny Him our lives.
But He still dwells with us. That is, His glory fills the earth.
And
His sacrifice of His Son Jesus has already paid the price so we can approach Him,
and so the Holy Spirit is working at all times, brooding over lives,
reaching out to hearts,
making ready circumstances,
all to bring us to the knowledge
of what God has ALREADY DONE FOR US.
Because He SO desires to dwell with us...
This is beyond comprehension - HOW MUCH HE WANTS TO BE WITH US!
But when we let Him into our hearts, He dwells WITHIN us as well.
And so we are changed and moved to join with Him in the spectrum of movings
of His Spirit,
showing us love,
showing us peace,
showing us stability,
showing us we are accepted,
showing us we are NOT alone... (Just to begin with...)
And as we know Him more, He becomes where we run to...
He becomes a cover, a shadow, a help beyond the inside of us,
beyond the inner things, we find Him as a strong tower,
a place to remain,
in His sweet presence surrounding us,
and His arms enfolding us.
His grace surrounding us like walls, yet lifting us like currents of waves,
His rising above all circumstances here on earth becomes our
rising above all circumstances here on earth.
We see we are not all about what is around us,
the cares of the world...
the ideas of the world...
the presentations of the world to accentuate stresses and other things...
We find HIM for Who He is,
stable and true
reliable and ready
just a breath away
just say His name and acknowledge He is there beside you...
Jesus!
A refuge of peace in time of sorrow...
A place of calm in times of shaking...
An immense standard in times of confrontation...
A cloak of praise for times of persecution or insult...
Even a spring of joy in place of losses...
For Jesus said we would lose our lives if we follow Him,
and gain Life,
His life.
Psalm 46:1
God is very present IN trouble.
We need trouble.
We need trouble to show us HOW STRONG GOD IS.
That's how it works, He creates circumstances...
What?
Yes, He creates scenerios.
He is the God IN CONTROL.
You are not. I am not. They are not.
He IS.
God Who sits on The Throne of the Highest Heaven
IS PRESENTLY working
in the earth...
In my earth (my earthen vessel -- for we have this treasure in earthen vessels -- yes)
and in the earth as it is.
In this world,
Working, bringing about His Grand Plan to bring all those to Himself that He has created for Himself...
and to bring His wrath and judgement to all those that are created for such. ( )
This is a great mystery, but I encourage much study of the scripture.
Psalm 86:9 All nations You have made shall come and worship you...
There is a gathering of all nations coming.
There is a gathering OUT of those from every tongue and nation (Rev ) that is happening NOW.
(The Lord will have who is His.)
It has been happening for centuries, but it is also happening NOW.
We must tuck into the Lord,
remain beneath His wings, hide in His shadow, take refuge in WHO He is.
Acknowledge His presence and..
We must KNOW HIM.
because...
Psalm 46:2
"Therefore we will not fear,
Even though the earth be removed..."
Fear is the enemy to our souls and to our hearing and to our seeing.
We must see AS OUR FATHER SEES and
HEAR AS OUR FATHER speaks and directs us.
We MUST.
Look at this Psalm...
"...Even though the earth be removed,
And though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea...
It's waters roar and be troubled
The mountains shake with its swelling. Selah."
You bet, selah... A break right there to consider
HOW LITTLE FEAR would have to have a hold on us, for us to NOT FEAR in times like those.
Perfect Love casts out fear.
Fear is an entity. It is not an emotion. It is not locked into your heart, reliable, and there for eternity.
Fear entered man at the Fall.
If Love can cast it out, can throw it out like garbage,
then it is NOT YOU.
It is NOT an emotion.
Fearing God is about being in awe of Him,
This fear I mean is fear of being abandoned or left helpless...
We WILL NOT FEAR
is a direct result of finding God as our refuge and strength.
And we find God as our refuge and strength from the circumstances
that affect us
ENOUGH TO RUN TO HIM.
Don't be too confident in yourself, because God knows what it takes to make you run...
TO HIM.
But when you do, HE IS THERE -
IN THE MIDST of your circumstances.
He wants you to run to Him!!
Oh, How He wants to be with us!!
He wants us to KNOW HIM and to FIND HIM for ALLLL THAT HE IS!!
Do not deny Him His due!
Give in to the running!
Don't hide, so that He has to ask, like with Adam, "Where are you?"
RUN TO HIM!
Oh, the name of the Lord is like a strong tower
The righteous shall run unto Him and be glad.
Being righteous is not about being strong and built up in yourself, ready to conquer and overcome!
No, being righteous is being reliant on God, being needy for Him, relying on Him,
and through us
He conquers and overcomes all things!
Though the ocean rises and mountains slide off the land into it's vast depths,
though there is great earth shaking, life-shattering, apocolyptic,
massive messes around us...
Psalm 46:4
"There is A RIVER
whose streams shall make glad the city of God."
There is a river (Rev ) that flows from the Throne of God
that is beyond and above,
and has MORE dictation
and takes precedence in us
over anything...
even over circumstances...
It is a river that flows from Jehovah God our Father AND FROM JESUS,
Who share the same throne.
It is a river that supercedes all things on earth
A river of His presence!
A river of Who He is!
A river that flows freely out of the heart of God!
It is THIS RIVER that makes us glad
even in the middle of all things catastrophic, all things immeasuably out of place...
Those are just... things.
We
ARE HIS!
And He has given us the privilege of tasting, living and being made glad,
and even a plea
to come INTO the river
WITH HIM.
YES, WE are the city God is building (another blog for another day...)
Psalm 46:4 --
The streams of this river make us glad.
Just the streams... Just the streams will make us glad and have our attention over this set of circumstances
as described per the above...
Can we imagine the ACTUAL river?
No wonder we don't get to full-on be in that river until we are
standing in changed bodies... :D hee hee! We will need them!
This river is making glad the city of God is
"The holy place of the tabernacle of the Most High" - Psalm 46:4.
Breaking that down:
The Holy (no italics)
of
The tabernacle
of
The Most High.
This is the place of tabernacling with Him.
This is the place of dwelling with Him.
This is the place - THE RIVER!
IT IS HOLY,
IT IS GOD'S RIVER FROM HIS HEART!
AND -
It is where we are called to be!
Jesus said out of our bellies would flow rivers of living water.
OUT OF OUR DEPTHS
flows HIS DEPTHS.
Out of our beings, our inner man, our spirit
flows His Spirit,
His substance
that affects the city of God, first of all.
Firstly, She is glad.
Secondly, She has no fear,
Thirdly, Psalm 46:5 - She is NOT moved.
Everything is moving around her but
SHE IS NOT MOVED.
"GOD IS IN THE MIDST OF HER" - See? hee hee!
"She shall NOT be moved.
God shall help her, just at the break of dawn.
The nations raged,
the kingdoms were moved..."
WHO WAS MOVED??
THAT'S RIGHT - THE KINGDOMS!!!
She relied on God
TO BE her strength,
TO BE her refuge,
She let His River do His Work
IN HER
IN HER MIDST
and -
KINGDOMS ARE MOVED,
BUT NOT HER!!!
Verse 6 - God "uttered His voice, the earth melted."
There is nothing un-realistic about this Psalm, nor lacking,
because when we see as God sees,
we do see the beginning from the end.
We can and will and do see the over-view and
the fullness of the purposes of God, like as David did and wrote in this psalm.
That is why these writings are so full and can be interlocked with other scriptures...
The prophetic overlaps and expounds on itself,
the puposes of God unfold,
layer upon layer,
and His thinking is NOT LIKE our linear, earthly, sin-flawed thinking...
The Mind of our God and His plan and purposes WE NEED TO KNOW.
Be assurred that He wants to express His heart and mind to you and through you!
You have a much higher calling than you think you do!
Get into God's presence... Get into His river!
Begin to be moved by His Spirit,
begin to communicate with Him as never before,
and be open to His word changing your thought patterns.
We need to know Him
and BY HIM partake of His River, so that the flow of His river can flow through us
and affect this world.
A well respected minister I know once remarked about the scripture,
"Hold fast what you have, that no one (no man - KJV) take your crown" (Revelation 3:11b)
This verse speaks of us having a high calling that
we must not shy away from...
He remarked - That's your crown, but don't forget your shoes.
Only you can fill
YOUR shoes.
He went on...
Your shoes were made just for you,
your life is only for you
to walk in.
There never was and will never be again
anyone
like you.
You are the only you
that will ever be.
And you were created by God
for His purposes...
So, I encourage you to
find God for WHO HE IS
and in so doing, you will find your life.
For He who loses his life for My sake, Jesus said, will find it.
And P.S. Please - Don't wait, it may be too late.
The streams of the River need to flow and affect this world.
Please, play your part because you are necessary!

Out of our beings, our inner man, our spirit
flows His Spirit,
His substance
that affects the city of God, first of all.
Firstly, She is glad.
Secondly, She has no fear,
Thirdly, Psalm 46:5 - She is NOT moved.
Everything is moving around her but
SHE IS NOT MOVED.
"GOD IS IN THE MIDST OF HER" - See? hee hee!
"She shall NOT be moved.
God shall help her, just at the break of dawn.
The nations raged,
the kingdoms were moved..."
WHO WAS MOVED??
THAT'S RIGHT - THE KINGDOMS!!!
She relied on God
TO BE her strength,
TO BE her refuge,
She let His River do His Work
IN HER
IN HER MIDST
and -
KINGDOMS ARE MOVED,
BUT NOT HER!!!
Verse 6 - God "uttered His voice, the earth melted."
There is nothing un-realistic about this Psalm, nor lacking,
because when we see as God sees,
we do see the beginning from the end.
We can and will and do see the over-view and
the fullness of the purposes of God, like as David did and wrote in this psalm.
That is why these writings are so full and can be interlocked with other scriptures...
The prophetic overlaps and expounds on itself,
the puposes of God unfold,
layer upon layer,
and His thinking is NOT LIKE our linear, earthly, sin-flawed thinking...
The Mind of our God and His plan and purposes WE NEED TO KNOW.
Be assurred that He wants to express His heart and mind to you and through you!
You have a much higher calling than you think you do!
Get into God's presence... Get into His river!
Begin to be moved by His Spirit,
begin to communicate with Him as never before,
and be open to His word changing your thought patterns.
We need to know Him
and BY HIM partake of His River, so that the flow of His river can flow through us
and affect this world.
A well respected minister I know once remarked about the scripture,
"Hold fast what you have, that no one (no man - KJV) take your crown" (Revelation 3:11b)
This verse speaks of us having a high calling that
we must not shy away from...
He remarked - That's your crown, but don't forget your shoes.
Only you can fill
YOUR shoes.
He went on...
Your shoes were made just for you,
your life is only for you
to walk in.
There never was and will never be again
anyone
like you.
You are the only you
that will ever be.
And you were created by God
for His purposes...
So, I encourage you to
find God for WHO HE IS
and in so doing, you will find your life.
For He who loses his life for My sake, Jesus said, will find it.
And P.S. Please - Don't wait, it may be too late.
The streams of the River need to flow and affect this world.
Please, play your part because you are necessary!
