Psalm 68
Psalm 82

There were movings of the Holy Spirit in the Old Testament.
In Psalm 68 David gives us a rendition, a detailed depiction of an event in time where God met His people in an astounding way.

I have read it many times and each time it sets off a resounding vibration of God's desires within me. This psalm is a prophetic understanding of a "move of God" in hindsight. It is full of God's heart and mind, when He met with His people and revealed to them who they are called to be in the earth, dwelling with and in Him.

Please note:
The word "let" in the first 3 verses of this psalm does not exist in the Hebrew language. It is labelled "NIH" by the Strong's concordance, meaning "not in Hebrew".

Also, every word in italics in our bibles is added to the text to make it clearer for the reader. Punctuation has also been added to do that, but we won't go into all that at once...

I also have written little comments in parenthesis ( ) to indicate how this psalm resounds in my spirit,
that is, what else this touches on that is truth within me which rings back and echoes with the truth as I hear this again.

With all those in consideration, this psalm reads:

"God arise

His enemies be scattered

Those also who hate Him flee before Him

As smoke driven away, so drive away

As wax melts before the fire

the wicked perish at the presence of God

But righteous be glad

them rejoice before God

Yes, them rejoice exceedingly. "

It reads more like this is how He does things. This is what happens when God arises.
And God arises when God arises. Not when you and I "let" Him.

"Sing to God, sing praises to His name

Extol Him who rides on the clouds

By His name YAH

And rejoice before Him.

A father of the fatherless, a defender of widows

God in His holy habitation
(In us)

God sets the solitary in families

He brings out those who are bound into prosperity

But the rebellious dwell in a dry."

And here is the prophetic understanding of some history of
God and His chosen people, an excerpt from their wilderness days:

"O God, when You went out before Your people

When You marched through the wilderness

The earth shook

The heavens also dropped

at the presence of God, the God of Israel

Sinai itself at the presence of God, the God of Israel

You, O God, sent a plentiful rain

Whereby You confirmed Your inheritance.
(We are His inheritance)

When it was weary..

Your congregation dwelt in it. (the rain of confirmation)

You, O God, provided from Your goodness to the poor
(poor in spirit)

The Lord is able to confirm His inheritance - us. He is wanting to take us into His presence and do just that.
He promised to pour His Spirit out on all flesh. This is the day of that outpouring more than ever before!

This is also a day of what's known as "latter rain", indicative of rains of God moving in fresh and needed ways on His people for the purposes of the time they are in.
We are in a time of great purpose and it is becoming more ever necessary for us to hear from God.

The people of Israel had a calling - to clear out the land and become a picture of God's heart in the earth. That is, His heart to dwell among His people.
Emmanuel means God-with-us, so we who are on the other side of the coming of Emmanuel and the cross understand to some degree that God has a heart-intention to dwell with and among us.
Behold the tabernacle of God is with men, and God shall
dwell with them and they shall be His people. Rev 21:3.

But God actually put His foot down on, and walked in the wilderness WITH His people.
He marched through it!
He showed His awesome power to His people!
And He walked where they walked - In the wilderness!

God made it very very plain to His people that HE WAS WITH THEM
and most certainly by shaking the earth, they had a very good example of His ability to conquer the land. Fear had to be very real in that day!

But what my heart focuses on every time I read this is how God, like a parent, was walking out their steps with them and before them. He was PROVING Himself to them.
And yet a generation of that people didn't want to conquer.
They did not want to be a part of His plan.

God led them into the heavenly realms too.
Look at this -
"the heavens dropped at the presence of God".
I have heard it said by those who were put to death for their faith that they were enveloped in God's presence. One testimony out of Uganda from many years ago came with this same phrase
"the heavens were bowed low". They were in an intense presence-ing of God ...

Such provision in this!
Such a merciful and loving God that He would involve Himself so evidently with Man!

And there's more...

"The Lord gave the word

Great the company of those who proclaimed

' Kings of armies flee, they flee

And she who remains at home divides the spoil.

Though you lie down among sheepfolds

like the wings of a dove covered with silver

And her feathers with yellow gold.'   "

Silver always speaks of redemption in the scriptures.
Gold always speaks of God's character.
And we know this verse speaks of our Messiah who lied down among His sheep with redemption and was just as Jehovah to them in character, in heart.

"When the Almighty scatteed kings in it,

It was as snow in Zalmon."

This is part of the confirmation of who God's people were.
His spirit had come upon them to speak these words -
God gave the word and the company proclaimed it.
They worshipped and the presence of God dropped like
heaven on earth and they SPOKE THESE WORDS outloud with their own mouths!
The Spirit of prophecy!

They were confirmed as God's sheep, they were confirmed
as His kings!

In this prophetic utterance IN the presence of God that was so supernatural, so intense-- the air was "as snow in Zalmon".
I don't know if their snow was different from our snow, but I do know that there have been presencings of God in recent times that folks have testified of seeing clouds or even smoke...

The presence of God is REALER THAN REAL
and we had better be used to this, that is, we ought to accept Him as He is...

Because we are entering a time of His presence on earth as
never before!

God is arising.
We want our enemies scattered and we want His way in the earth, we say,
but as a body, as a unit, we have not leaned into the scriptures
and allowed God the lattitude to prove WHO HE IS
as well as to
CONFIRM WHO we are,
to His and our satisfaction.
We must allow Him to be Who He is.
There is no other way!

Psalm 82

"God stands in the congregation of the mighty"

This is God standing among His people. He is referring to us as mighty.
This is God presencing Himself just as Jesus stands amidst the candlesticks,
the candlesticks who are the churches in the book of Revelation.

God stands with us because He is loyal to His people, He is with us.
He is among us. And He is loyal and faithful to His covenant with us.

"He judges among the gods."

Verse 6 says "You gods".
Therefore, God is judging among us.

God cannot be separated from His character, and He is a judge.
His judgments are truth.
They are the highest court.
They are weighty with His understanding and they are mighty to bring
change...

The word for judges here is the Herbrew word #8199 in the Strong's concordance meaning -
to decide,
to lead, to defend and to vindicate.

And the next verse is a question -
"How long will you judge unjustly...?"

And "show partiality to the wicked ?" the NKJV says or
"accept the persons of the wicked? " the KJV says.

We are in a position of choosing -
God's judgments or man's.
God's abilities and power, or man's.
Our own thinking, or His mind.
The wicked
Or The Righteous One.

His judgments are very sure and they still come with His mercy.
Now is the time to accept and adhere to His judgments.

Psalm 82 then depicts what we are called to do by His judgements,
even through the heartcry of the One Who stands among us ...
Let it be known within you today that God wants to do for others
what He has done for you.
And better yet - He wants you to experience what He can do for your sake and for others' sake
BY LETTING HIM DO FOR YOU.

"Defend - the poor and fatherless
Do justice - to the afflicted and needy
Deliver - the poor and needy
Free - from the hand of the wicked. "

I wrote them so you could see that these are part of His judgments, plain and simple.

We think we can do them with our natural hands to a certain extent in the earth, but -
The call is higher than that.

"FREE from the hand of the wicked." ...

Why was Jesus sent?
Wasn't He sent to minister these very things? (Isaiah 61, Luke 4:18)

And Who did Jesus act like? His Father... He did what He SAW His Father do,
and
He spoke what He HEARD His Father speak.

And then He taught His disciples to walk and talk just like Him,
in unity of experience WITH THE FATHER,
SEEING and HEARING the Father.

This is the same Father God in Psalm 82.

This is the same issue - today as in that day.
We are called to move and live in cooperation and with an open-heartedness
to God's ever moving Spirit, hear and see and walk in His
ever-life-giving, vindicating, defending
judgment.

Look at Psalm 68 again

"A father of the fatherless, a defender of widows

God in His holy habitation"

Where is God's holy habitation?
Isn't it you and me?

THIS is the judgement of God - That the earth is full of souls that need Him.
And this too -
That we utterly need Him ourselves!

This is the same word in Hebrew in the question He asks us...
so we are asked,
how long
will we decide, lead, defend
and vindicate
UN-justly.

If our own judgment was just, wouldn't we have Jesus' results?

Very simply put, the signs only follow those who believe.
What signs?
Miraculous signs.
These ministries take God's empowerment, His dynamis!

Those who believe are those who take God at His word and move in His Spirit!
(And signs follow because that's how living His word is!)
Those who dig into His Word and His presence and sit with Him,
wait on Him and
move when He moves...
These are submitting to
His decisions, His leading, His judgments.

We want God to rule the earth but He has yet to rule our hearts,
to be given the free reign we say we want Him to have in the earth.
He has to have us first!

We want the results but we don't want the supernatural things
of God.
We want God but do we want Him to dwell in us richly?
And bless the nations?

How do we expect these ministries to happen if we don't do things His way?

And how awful of us to be given such an example of how to walk, Jesus Himself,
and the written examples of how NOT to walk...
and then we do everything
as we see fit!

There is a moving of God's Spirit that is right near you
because He stands WITH you.
He is not afar off! He is near and waiting for you to turn to
Him and decide to let Him have His way.

This is going to change everything.
His affect on you is supposed
to change everything.
If you have not been speaking in tongues, you will speak in tongues.
That is The Comforter moving in and through your natural body.
If you want the next step and haven't yet received, it is your due.
It is your enduement of power! You can't get on without this!
If you could, Jesus would have told you!

Why is it we want to do everything He said
except experience and participate in the things of The Spirit?
I will write a blog on all the scriptures describing that gift, but for
shortness, let me finally say...

The rain is coming to you!!
And for some of us, it is here!

Psalm 68 --

"You, O God, sent a plentiful rain

Whereby You confirmed Your inheritance."

(We are His inheritance)

"When it was weary..

Your congregation dwelt in it."

(The rain of His presence and confirmation.)

You need His confirmation and vision - and God is bringing heaven to
your earthen vessel!!

You are needed in this day and time, because we are seeing the times,
many are sensing the times.
Your stepping into the spiritual things of God will not have to be long coming,
because we can see even the people of God before their Messiah came did not walk
with God long before
He showed Himself strong in the wilderness and confirmed them...
And they were moving in His Spirit,
prophesying,
declaring the word of the Lord with their mouths,
experiencing
and tasting
of heavenly things!

Stop chiding yourself with what you have and have not been taught
and ask God for more of His Spirit to move on your life.
Be desirous of heavenly things! Be desirous of His ways!

The warning is there Psalm 82:6,7.
Those princes who fall are the princes in the air...

And the invitation is here - Rev. 3:20.
That door a door into the heavens with Christ. Read it.
And if you hear His voice knocking, I implore you to open the door to Him and let Him take you out of your stasis
and into the movements of the heavenly!
Arise, O God within us and upon us!

Quench not the Holy Spirit and do not despise prophecies - 1 Thes. 5:19, 20
The Holy Spirit is our teacher - 1 John 2:27
